PC Magistrate Court 4/24/08
Terri L. Faulk, of Marlinton, appeared before Magistrate Kathy Beverage on April 10 and entered a plea of no contest to a charge of giving false information to police. She was fined $50 and assessed $160.50 in court costs.
A preliminary hearing was held on the 10th in Magistrate Danith Miller’s court for Charles N. Irvine, of Marlinton, on a charge of DUI, third offense. Probable cause was found and he was bound over to the Circuit Court. Irvine was placed on home confinement until a hearing in Circuit Court.
Two hearings were held in Magistrate Beverage’s court on the 16th.
Jason T. Cassell, of Marlinton, was found guilty of battery and public intoxication. On the first charge he was sentenced to one year in jail and fined $150. All but ten days of the jail sentence was suspended and Cassell was placed on probation. For the second offense he was fined $10. Court costs came to $321.
Dustin K. Turner, of Marlinton, was found guilty of fishing without a license. He was fined $20 with $160.50 in court costs.
Barry D. Atkins, of Marlinton, appeared in court on the 13th on charges of DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, and being left of center. He was released on $2500 bond.
Shannon Turner, of Marlinton, was arrested on the 18th and charged with battery. She was released on $500 bond.
Jeffrey A. Teter, of Marlinton, was arrested on the 19th on a charge of manufacturing a controlled substance, a felony. He was placed in jail in lieu of $15,000 bond.
